Grammy-nominated Colombian bass guitar guru Juan Garcia-Herreros, aka The Snow Owl, recently released his new Latin-Jazz album “The Blue Road”. Guest musicians on the album include a number of world-renowned jazz musicians, including Stoyan Yankulov – Stundji (percussion), Svilen Angelov (Mixing & Mastering) and Outhentic frontman – Zhivko Vassilev, whose kaval can be heard on five of the album’s tracks. With his participation in this large-scale project, Zhivko ushers in a new era for the Bulgarian kaval, in which the instrument enters the world jazz scene, without giving up in any way to the most prominent musical instruments in this genre. Bulgaria is also taking another big step in its cultural development with the participation of the three Bulgarians in this project, as this is one of the few Bulgarian collaborations with a Grammy-nominated star. I remind you that the Snowy Owl nomination was in the “Album” category! Therefore! We wish Juan not only to be nominated with his current album, but we are also sure that the Bulgarian participation in “The Blue Road” will be one of the main factors contributing to his fully deserved grab of the statuette!
